One day over April break, a group of GES community members came out to volunteer their time and spruced up our beautiful flower gardens. Once that was done, we invited Carele Mayer back to the school to view the amazing blooms. Carele has volunteered for over 30 years, and has been the reason we have the incredible gardens around our property. She has collaborated with students each year to plant bulbs and create seed balls to use on a number of our hills. She is "retiring" this year from her volunteer activities, which went beyond the gardens and extended into classrooms as she was a regular guest reader. She also organized a special tea with the kindergarten class every year. Her dedication to our school has been a concrete example of caring, kindness and generosity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Read-A-Thon this year. We’re so grateful for every reader, educator and family supporter who encouraged reading, and shared our Read-A-Thon info with donors. We couldn’t have done it without you! Because of your reading and fundraising efforts, we logged 17,028 minutes read and raised a total of $4,813.00! It is amazing what our GES community has accomplished together. The PTO is proud to serve such an engaged school community and we look forward to using our Read-A-Thon proceeds to enrich our students' educational experience at GES.
