A community forum, sponsored by the ConVal School Board, was held on Wednesday, February 18.
For just over an hour, members of the school board and the district administration presented on a variety of topics that will come before voters in March. Chief among them were the budget and several warrant articles, including one on open enrollment and one on Francestown's re-proposed withdrawal from the ConVal cooperative school district.
In the photo, Business Manager Neal Cass gives a detailed explanation of the proposed budget, including the district assessment.
After the presentation, audience members and online viewers engaged in an hour-long question-and-answer period with school board members and administrators.
The YouTube video of the community forum, including the Q&A session, can be accessed here.

Our students and staff had so much fun at our 100th Day celebration. Students joined together as mixed grade teams and enjoyed sledding, medal making and a biathlon to name a few of the activities. We had both an opening and closing ceremony, which included whole school rock-paper-scissors and a "snowball" fight. Fun was had by all!

GES students enjoyed working with cartoonist Marek Bennett last week. He makes engaging comic books that teach about historic events. Students learned helpful planning and production strategies. They invented characters, sequenced events, revised with classmate input and added detail for clarity. They were excited to use comics to tell their own stories. It was amazing to watch their focus and efforts as their stories came to life in their mini books. We ended the wonderful week with an all-school assembly when Marek was able to share his creative process and read some of the student-created comic books. A big thank you again to the PTO who helped to sponsor this residency!
